Dental Implants in South Delhi

Implants are the modern way to replace missing teeth. An implant is a tiny titanium screw which is drilled in the bone where the tooth’s root would normally be. Osteointegrationis a process with which the implant stabilizes and becomes part of our jaw bone. When the implant is fully integrated to the bone, an abutment and a post is attached to it. A crown can be placed over the post to replace the missing tooth. A denture can also be stabilized with implant.2 to 4 Implants can be used to support dentures which is of great benefit to denture wearers.

The initial implant takes around 45 minutes and is usually done under local anesthetic. It takes about an average of three months for the implant to fully integrate with the bone of your jaw.

You can have any number of teeth replaced with implants – from a single tooth to a complete set. There are many companies which manufacture implants eg Bio-Horizon, Nobel Biocare.

To see if you are a good candidate for implants, we complete a medical and dental examination which includes all previous dental and medical history. An X-Ray or CT scan is done to look at the bone in your jaw to assess the amount of bone still there. If there is not enough, or it’s not healthy enough, you might need some extra surgery (bone grafting) to build up the bone in the jaw.
